mr. Matthijs Cune
Matthijs Cune studied Law in Maastricht and at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He started as lawyer in 2008 at a large, nationally operating law firm at the commercial real estate department. There, he engaged in civil construction and real estate right in a combined process and advice practice.
In 2011, Matthijs transferred to Weebers Vastgoed Advocaten. He advises and litigates on a broad range of construction and real estate-related topics, including general conditions in the construction industry (UAV 2012, UAV-GC 2005 and the DNR 2011), procurement law and architect law. Matthijs is also engaged in insurance law related matters within the construction industry, especially cases of loss under the Construction All Risks insurance (CAR-policy).
Matthijs frequently litigates at the national court (tribunals and courts), the Dutch Arbitration Board (RvA) and other arbitration institutes.
In addition, Matthijs advises on contract drafting in area and project development from the perspective of municipalities, housing corporations, project developers and contractors.
Matthijs is a member of the Construction Law Lawyers’ Association (VBRA).
Matthijs is also member of the disciplinary committee of the Dutch Judo Association (JBN).
