From steward’s office to advocacy
She has been active in real estate for 25 years. Initially as a legal expert at a steward’s office and since 1997 as lawyer. During her time at the steward’s office, she gained her first experience with active and passive land politics, land exploitation, land acquisition/expropriation and public decision-making law. Her transfer to advocacy enabled her to increase her field of work; initially in the procedure practice, administrative law and bankruptcy law.
Over the years, she has found her way back to the practice of real estate development. She advises for various area developments in the Netherlands. She does so as project consultant and party consultant, on a project base or otherwise. Her spearpoint is contract drafting. In addition, she engages in various construction disputes and disputes regarding lower limit transactions.
Executive Master of Real Estate
Mid-2008, Caroline graduated the programme Executive Master of Real Estate by TIAS. Her graduation research regarded the applicability of common collaboration models for integral area developments, primarily in relation with procurement law. Ever since, she has regularly taught on the strategy of developing and realising real estate projects with regards to planning, design and realisation, as well as the applicable legislation.
Among other organisations, Caroline is a member of the Construction Law Lawyers’ Association, the Dutch Procurement Law Association and alumnus of the MRE programme.
